In Support of Libraries
Praise God that none of the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library branches will be closed next year. From what I read in the paper, the libraries still need our help though. I hope many will put loose change and dollar bills into designated containers on library check-out counters as well as go to http://foundation.imcpl.org/giving/friends.html or call 317-275-4700 to become Friends of the Library. Contributors allocate donations to Central Library or branches. My choice of Flanner House branch was based on an experience one of the years I participated in FCC’s weekly tutoring program at School 42. After receiving signed parental permission, I picked up my students on a Saturday and drove to the Flanner House branch, the closest branch to School 42. The kids’ smiles, excitement, and comments told me they were thrilled to get library cards and check out books.
Thank God for libraries! Let’s all support them in various ways.
