In 1994, First Congregational UCC voted to become an Open and Affirming church welcoming all people into our church and into our life. We are a member of the Interfaith Coalition on Nondiscrimination and seek to actively support gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender justice issues while providing a home of love and acceptance to all. James Dobson and other conservative Christians denounced SpongeBob Squarepants for being “pro-homosexual.” While not welcome at Focus on the Family,  Pastor Clough assures SpongeBob that he is welcome at First Congregational UCC.
