DIRECTIONS FOR NEW CREATION COFFEE

Stop by the kitchenette & get the 2 large thermoses (& possibly the 2 new smaller ones if they’ve made their way upstairs) & a pitcher full of ice.

Downstairs in the kitchen, put on a pot of regular & a pot of decaf. For 30 cups of coffee (the minimum you can make in the 2 new pots), use 1.5 cups of coffee. For the full 45 cups of coffee, use 2 cups. The coffee will be found next to the coffee pots, in the fridge, or on the floor in the room with the freezer.

While the coffee is brewing, boil enough water to fill 2 of the white carafes (found in the cupboard below the sink nearest the Mayflower Room). One of these carafes will be taken upstairs. NOTE: It takes about 30 minutes for 45 cups to brew.

While the coffee continues to brew, divide the ice between 2 pitchers; fill one with water, and the other with juice. Put them in the fridge until you’re ready to put out the coffee.

While the coffee continues to brew, set the table in the Mayflower Room. There’s a plastic white lacey-looking tablecloth either already on the table or on the second shelf of the metal serving cart against the wall closest to the Mayflower Room. Also, on that cart you will find the stir sticks, tea bags, creamer, sugar, sweetener, hot cups, & cold cups. Please be sure to put out an empty Styrofoam plate for used stir sticks, etc.

Once the coffee is done brewing, fill the large thermoses for use downstairs & the new, smaller thermoses for use during Education Hour coffee upstairs in the parlor. (It’s easiest to fill the large thermoses using the 12-cup carafes from the little coffee makers.) Put out the New Creation Coffee, the water for tea, the cold drinks, and any snacks you’ve brought. It’s a good idea to put the huge clear plastic bowl over the goodies so they don’t dry out.

Once you’re done with New Creation (for now), it’s time to go to the parlor & set up. Take the coffee thermoses & the hot water carafe upstairs & put it on the table in the parlor. Along with the beverages, you’ll want to put out the coffee mugs, as well as the accessories (stir sticks, tea bags, etc). Before returning to the Mayflower Room for the New Creation Worship, please make the lemonade that will be used for the parlor coffee.

Right before New Creation starts, you might want to top off the coffee pots. Also, it’s a good idea to top them off right before New Creation ends. There might also be a need for additional ice water & juice.

If there is coffee left over after New Creation, please take it up to the parlor for use after the Traditional Service.

Please leave the kitchen as you found it, and be sure to fill the creamer, sugar, sweetener, & tea bag bowls with supplies found on the wooden microwave cart next to where you found the metal serving cart.
